Posters and Frames

1. What kind of frames do you use?

Sourced from renewable forests our frames are made from Ayous timber which is durable yet lightweight. They are .75″ (1.9 cm) thick for a clean minimalist profile, lightweight for easy hanging and are protected by a durable anti-glare Acrylite front.

2. What materials do you use for Giclée art prints?

Our Giclée art prints are manufactured to museum quality for beautiful colour accuracy using natural white matte and ultra smooth 200 GSM archival paper. We use Epson UltraChrome GS3 ink for brilliant durable colour, printed on acid free paper for fade-resistant longevity.

3. Will the print arrive ready to hang?

> Framed posters are already framed and arrive with hanging hardware included in the box.
> Paper Giclée posters are delivered rolled in a tube, ready for you to frame and hang. Note: frames not included.

4. Where are the prints made?

All prints and canvases are processed and printed locally in the USA.

5. What sizes do you offer?

Most of our prints are available in 8×10 inch,12X16 inch, 16X20 inch, 18X24 inch, and 24X36 inch.

6. Are your posters printed edge-to-edge?

All poster prints are true sizes and printed edge-to-edge. This means you can either frame the prints as they are, or you can add a white border to make the overall frames bigger, which is a very popular option.

Care and Maintenance

1. How should I care for my giclée art print?

Handle your print only by the edges. The oil from your fingers can affect the PH of the paper and reduce the archival qualities. Fingerprints on dark areas will show up as sheen.

Avoid bending your print as a crease will be permanent.

Keep your print away from moisture, condensation and humidity. Although our inks are water resistant, water can still cause damage.

If possible, allow a few days for your print to breathe and the inks to dry completely before framing. Select only archival (acid-free) frames. Wood frames treated with chemicals or paints can omit harmful gases that can attack the ink and paper.

Providing you keep your print free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight, it will last for many years.

Digital Downloads

1. How ZIP Files Work

A ZIP file is simply a little container that bundles all of the images together for easy downloading.

To access your artwork images inside then, you’ll first need to download the ZIP file, and then “UN-ZIP” it to reveal the printable JPG images inside.

Please Note: Not all mobile phones can open ZIP files. If you are having trouble un-zipping the artwork files on your mobile device, please try using a computer instead.

2. Print Shop Says Files Are Low Quality

All of our artwork at Divine Digital Prints are provided in high resolution 300DPI .jpg files, and have been sold and printed perfectly tens of thousands of times, with very few exceptions.

This means the quality of the original files are unlikely to be the issue. However, if you are encountering low quality prints, there are a few circumstances that can lead to this outcome.

Mobile Devices

Sometimes people run into issues when downloading or transferring our images to a mobile device, or when trying to use their mobile device to order the prints online.

This is because some mobile devices compress the images down to save space on the hardrive of the device (i.e. shrink the file size and quality).

My recommendation is to try downloading and unzipping the artwork again to your computer instead, and then try ordering again either by using the desktop browser, or by taking the images into the store on USB storage device. This is the best way to ensure the integrity of the high quality images is maintained.

Sending Prints To A Print Shop Via Email

Some print suppliers allow you to submit your images for printing via email. While this is convenient, some email providers also compress images when attaching them to the email to help avoid spam filters and to and ensure a high send speed.

We recommend to try ordering online using the desktop browser only, or by taking the images into the store on USB storage device. Again this is the best way to ensure the integrity of the high quality images is maintained.

Using The Correct File For The Size You Want To Print

After downloading and Un-Zipping the Artwork file, you will notice that we provide you with a collection of different sized printable JPG image files to choose from. Each of these image files are labelled with their respective dimensions.

For example, if a file is labelled with 16×20 in the filename, this will be the file you need to use to print a poster size 16×20 inches.

Note: Attempting to use an image labelled 8×10 to print at 16×20 inches, will result in the image coming out pixelated.

In some rare cases we have seen print settings used by the print supplier cause an issue.

This is because some suppliers have arbitrary file size limits for uploading images. Sometimes they say that the file size is too small, or sometimes too large, despite the resolution being 300DPI.

This can be a tricky culprit to diagnose, so if you’ve already tried using your computer to download the files, and you’re not using your phone or email to print them, yet you’re still encountering an issue with the supplier, my recommendation is to try another print shop.
